Scar revision and the treatment of acne scarring is simultaneously some of the most challenging and some of the most rewarding work in Dermatology.

The mechanism of injury, the previous treatment modalities, techniques, and the course of healing all must be evaluated carefully in order to determine how to improve on the healing process and alter the outcome more favorably. Frequently, a single mechanism is not sufficient and multiple treatment modalities are required. Sub scission and fillers can be combined to achieve maximum results. Just as frequently, a single operation may not be able to achieve the maximum improvement, and several stages need to be instituted in sequence.
